SMX II Controls For Tempered Water Air Conditioning Systems
The SMX II is a programmable microprocessor-based electronic control for use with Cruisair tempered water air conditioning systems.
The SMX II system consists of several main components, which are ordered separately. They include the switch module, power/logic module, temperature sensing element, decorative switchplate and interconnect cables. The power/logic module and temperature sensing element are not needed if the SMX II system is installed with an air handler with an integral power/logic module. Refer to the Specification Sheet for details on matching components.
The SMX II has a non-corrosive ABS switchplate and soft-touch membrane keys. The large, easy-to-read LED digital display shows the setpoint or cabin temperature, and also can be used to give readouts of operating parameters, programming prompts and fault code warnings. Small LED lights are provided on the front panel to indicate system status. The switchplates are available in black, brown, white or beige. Custom graphics are available on special order.
The switch assembly operates on low-voltage DC input, which is provided by the PLTC power/logic module. Wiring connections are made with a simple pre-wired plug.
Factory settings may be changed with user-programmable commands to fine-tune the system for personal preferences. Programming modes are accessed by pressing special combinations of keys. Programming features include: operating temperature differentials, automatic dehumidification, continuous or intermittent fan operation, low/high fan speed adjustment, and Fahrenheit or Celsius temperature display.
The system's non-volatile memory retains all user-programmed settings when the power is switched off.
Software upgrades for the SMX II are released periodically by Cruisair. New software can easily be installed in the field by exchanging plug-in EPROMs.
